EmployER Engagement: The Fresh and Dissenting Voice of Engagement and Retention
Drawing on more than 25 years of workforce research and hundreds of thousands of employee interviews, Danny Nelms presents a different perspective on the employment relationship. This session challenges the conventional wisdom that employee engagement should be the primary focus of workforce strategy and argues that engagement is best understood as an outcome rather than a cause.
Participants will explore why favorable survey results often fail to predict critical workforce outcomes, how organizations can become trapped in measuring symptoms rather than causes, and why the workplace conditions employers create ultimately shape retention, performance, trust, and employee experience.
This thought-provoking session introduces the EmployER Engagement framework, a practical approach that shifts the conversation from measuring employees to evaluating the employer's role in creating an environment where people can succeed. Attendees will leave with a fresh perspective on workforce strategy and actionable ideas for improving organizational effectiveness.
