Bill Kipp started his HR career with Gerdau (then called Florida Steel) in 1978 after graduation from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Business/Industrial Relations. From 1978-1990, Bill worked in HR at multiple Gerdau locations (including Jackson) before returning to Jackson as HR Manager at the Jackson Steel Mill where he was responsible for leading all HR programs & policies including recruitment & selection, EEO & Affirmative Action, training & development, performance management, ethics training & compliance, employee relations, communications, policy development, community affairs, safety & security.
Bill recently was recognized by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce as an Honorary Lifetime Member. He is a Leadership Jackson graduate & past Chairperson and is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for The STAR Center, Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Jackson Symphony Association and Jackson Arts Council. He also currently serves on a Workforce Training Task-Force at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce and, in a previous lifetime, was President of the West Tennessee Personnel Association.
